Miracles

Everyday Miracles

Miracles happen every day. Mothers give birth, souls rise into Heaven, and children learn. We need to learn to appreciate these daily miracles. We appreciated the miracles that Jesus performed only because they were more noticeable. But, Jesus performs miracles every day on Earth. Every time you see a person, animal, or plant you see a miracle being performed. Life is miraculous. A ten year old named Rachel Shardlow cheated death the other day after getting stung by a box jellyfish. Box jellyfishes are one of the most poisonous jellyfish in the world and Rachel survived its deadly sting. But, how does her story amount to how a woman gave birth in Georgia? Why does rareness determine value? It shouldn't. Daily miracles are just as important

Jesus' Miracles

When Jesus was on Earth he performed extremely amazing miracles. He walked on water, turned water into wine, gave a blind man sight, and even RAISED PEOPLE FROM THE DEAD! He did all of this because He is of course, God. Here are some stories about Jesus' miracles:

Jesus was at a wedding and they ran out of wine. But, luckily Jesus was there to save the day and turned six vases of water into wine. This was his first miracle.

Jesus was at a gathering of 5000 people. They had 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. Jesus blessed the baskets of food. Then, the baskets were practically a bottomless pit. The food they had fed all 5000 people.

A man with leprosy, a very contagious disease, went up to Jesus and begged Jesus to cleanse him. Then Jesus healed him of this disease.

So, as you can tell Jesus is awesome and can perform amazing miracles for you!

Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers

Everyone deserves a job, when they're older that is. In many countries children are illegally forced to work in harsh conditions that are bad for their health and in big factories. In many countries and continents they are trying to get rid of child labor like in China, Africa, and Latin America. 250 million kids our age and younger are forced to work harsh hours with little to no pay. Nearly all types of child labor happen in the U.S., whether it is agricultural, factory work, or even sexual slavery. Most child laborers in the U.S. work on farms out in the west. According to the Human Rights, over half of interviewed farm workers worked in a field that was just sprayed with fertilizer and a third had been sprayed themselves. Also the workers are commonly beaten, whipped, and threatened for low quality work. This is a horrible thing that not only takes away the dignity but the rights of a worker, which would be the child. I think that children shouldn’t be working with or without pay anyway. I mean chores are fine because that is contributing to your family and house, but making children do those things in my mind is just as bad as slavery.

Jesus is the Bomb Digity!

Jesus is just so awesome! We need to always follow hm and believe in him. How he died on the cross for us was just amazing! He suffered just to save us from our sins. Just think that is so wonderful that he would do that for us. Jesus will always forgive you no matter what sin you commit. He will always be there to let you back into his arms. We should always pray and thank Jesus for what he has done for us. When you ask Jesus for help, remember always to thank him. Sometimes we forget to thank him he performed many miracles like giving a blind man sight or turning water into wine. He also followed the Ten Commandments by honoring his mother and father so much and other ways.

When you go to mass, you should really pay attention to the stories of Jesus. Don't just sit there and stare off into space. That defeats the whole purpose of going to mass. We go to mass to celebrate the Eucharist. It’s the body of Christ people!! I mean how awesome is that?!?! Jesus is our savoir so let’s show him how much we love him by going to mass and praising him! So let’s give it up for the one and only JC!!!!!!! WOOO! :D

Life and Dignity of the Human Person

Life is important because it's a gift from God. Since we are all in God's family, it should not matter what race, nationality, gender, or sexual preference you are. We should not discriminate or judge others. World leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr, help fight for this cause. He wrote speeches, led marches, and he had a dream that blacks and whites could be equal. Even today there are organizations that fight the same cause. The PDHRE works towards the rights and human dignity of minorities.

We are all worth the same amount because we are all made in the image of God. It is said in the Bible that Adam and Eve were created in the image and likeness of God. Starting from the time we are conceived to the time we are dead, we all have the same human dignity. Dignity is our idea that we all deserve respect. We do deserve respect, to be treated fairly, and to be treated equally. From unborn babies to elderly patients in hospitals we all need that dignity. So, since we are all the same, spread the word about equal treatment, human dignity, and life!

Care for Gods Creation

God created us to be stewards or caretakers of his creation. We have to respect and care for our environment. We really have to protect and watch over it for the future generations. When we do care for it we are showing a great deal of respect for God our Creator. Earth day was just last week! That is a great way to care for our environment. Some ways u could help would be like maybe picking up trash around you or you could go to the beach and pick up the trash there. You could also ask your principal of your school if you can get a recycling bin instead of throwing all that paper away in the trash. Also if we don't care for our environment all the plants and animals will die and with out them we wont have food and we will die. We also need trees to stay alive because they help us have oxygen and with out that we will obviously die. So you kind of now see that taking care of and respecting our environment and really our whole planet is very important. so always remember the three Rs Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Keep the earth clean and God Will love you!!!

Option for the Poor and Vunerable

As all of us know there have been horrible earthquakes in two parts of the world lately. The 7.0 earthquake in Haiti destroyed many of their weak structures. The earthquake killed many and left many more homeless, weak, and vulnerable. Where do all those people go? They have to go somewhere. There are websites like www.bet.com/special/helphaiti that you can donate to and save peoples lives by providing medicine, shelter, food, water, and other necessities of life. There are also a lot of other things going on to help other countries like Chile. For example Idol Gives Back where all you have to do is text them and give them 10$ to save someone’s life.

In my opinion I think that the right thing to do is to fly over to every other poor country and give them all the money we have. There is a story in the Bible that has four people. Three of them are rich and one is very poor. The three rich men put in pocket change into a bucket of donations for the poor. The poor man puts in everything he has into the bucket, which is very little, and the rich men laugh. Then Jesus comes along and says that that the poor man should be the one laughing because he was brave and put in everything he had and they just put in pocket change. I think we should all follow this story best we can and give all we have so we can give an option for the poor and vulnerable.

Call to Family, Comunity, and Participation

Eight high school students in Dallas, Texas are being recognized for their help in the community. The Prudential Spirit of the Community Celebration is a program that honors volunteers. They recognized service projects of almost 70 students from throughout the Dallas area for outstanding volunteer service in their communities. A volunteer said, "There's not much to take pride in, because I'm not doing it to be popular or anything,". Another one of the students created a bear with the pink cancer ribbon on it. This is a great way to honor God and show that we know we have the gifts he gave us and use it to help other people.

I think it is great that eight students helped in their community and helped so much that they made a ceremony to honor volunteers. Volunteering is a magnificent way to better the community and to get closer to God. By volunteering you help your family, friends, and community. That is following your Catholic Social Teachings. It can help you get closer to God by helping others. When helping others you are following the Bible and what God wants you to do. All of these people did great things in their community without asking anything in return and that is exactly what God wants us to do. I don’t think that people know it but whenever you do something nice for someone you’re following God’s word whether you are catholic or not.
